Quick start
Photo pins on drawings · inspection reports

Your first inspection, start to finish

Set up once (left), then run every job the same way (right). About ten minutes to learn.

1 · Set up once

  1. Profile (Settings → Your details): name, company, licence or registration number, phone, email — these print on your report letterhead.
  2. Logo: add it in Profile.
  3. Cloud backup (Settings → Cloud backup): connect Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. Set backup as you work to Wi-Fi only.
  4. Company folder (optional): open the invite link from your office so everyone’s jobs land in one shared folder.

2 · On site

  1. Open a PDF and pick the drawing — Combine beside it makes a few files into one job — or Site for a GPS site with no drawing.
  2. + Pin, tap the spot, take the photo. + Photo adds more to the same pin.
  3. Tap Location to say where it is; tap a photo to note what it shows. Use 🎤 to dictate instead of typing.
  4. Markup a photo to circle the defect or point at it.
  5. ☑ Checklist → start one of the twelve lists, from footings and frame to electrical, solar and waterproofing. Mark each item Pass / Fail / N/A, and attach a pin and photo as evidence.

3 · Report

  1. Report (top of the drawing) → Engineering Inspection Report.
  2. Fill in job number, client, builder, outcome, findings and recommendations — one recommendation per line, and they come out numbered. In any long field, lines starting with a dash print as bullets and lines starting with 1. as a numbered list.
  3. Preview to check, then save it as the cover.
  4. Send → choose what goes in (checklists, site map, internal pins) → Email or Save as…

4 · Finish the job

  • Press and hold a job → Archive & delete. Everything is zipped to your cloud and cleared off the phone.
  • Back up all + delete does a batch at once.
  • Restore brings a job back — from the cloud or from this phone — with pins, photos, notes and checklists intact.

Worth knowing

  • The client’s PDF is linked: tapping a pin number jumps straight to that photo.
  • Internal-only pins stay out of the client’s copy — grey on the drawing, lettered instead of numbered.
  • Everything works offline. Photos, pins and reports need no signal; backups go up when you’re back on Wi-Fi.
  • Edit the checklists to match how you inspect, including the answers (Yes / No, status codes and so on): Checklist → Edit templates. You can also write one at the computer and import it, or share one with your crew — how to build a list.
  • New phone? Sign in to the same cloud account and tap Restore.
